About the instructor:  Brendan Rafter retired from the NYPD as a Sergeant Detective Squad Supervisor after 23 years of service.  During his time in the police department Rafter served in the Bronx Gang Squad, the 43rd precinct's Detective Squad and as a member of the Hostage Negotiation Team.  His last seven years were in  the Major Case Squad, where he served as the commanding officer of the Bronx Major Case Squad for five years.
