About the Event
THIS IS NOW A 5 DAY COURSE. THIS COURSE CAN BE SUBMITTED FOR UASI GRANT APPROVAL. YOU WILL BE REDIRECTED TO ANOTHER SITE FOR REGISTRATION.
The purpose of TRAC is to provide tactical team members with vertical access capabilities that apply to a full spectrum of environments (urban through mountain) and variable operational constraints. (Non SWAT team members are also invited to take this course.) The course covers new equipment technology, rope access standards, descending, ascending, rescue, anchors and more. Throughout the course students use the PACE (Primary, Alternate, Contingency, Emergency) methodology. TRAC technique and equipment selection takes into account that many end users are not full time “rope-handlers”, where vertical access or rescue may not be their primary team function. We deemphasize memorizing numerous and complicated knots. We prefer to teach various wraps and hitches due to their inherent ease to recall and execute under the stress of high risk tactical operations. This course has been given all over the world to the premier special operations units from the law enforcement and SOF communities.
